Homeschool week 2

Homeschool week 2

Kids have been out of school now for 1 week and 1 day, and let me tell you, this homeschool ship is sinking fast! Throw me a life preserver cause I’m jumping ship! Ha! We had a rough morning getting back into the groove of school. It’s drizzly and gloomy out and everyone just wants to be snuggled in a chair watching tv. I get it. I want to do that too. But, I know my kiddos are better when…

Ice Cream Science

Ice Cream Science

It’s hard enough having to socially distance ourselves right now from everyone, but to not be able to go outside and play makes this extra challenging. It’s 40 degrees and overcast, so not terribly cold, but still not warm either. We’ve managed to take a short walk around the neighborhood most days just to get some fresh air, but it would sure be nice if it was sunny and 60 and the kids could just run and ride bikes and…

Day 3 – Homeschool

Day 3 – Homeschool

I never thought I would actually be homeschooling my kids, but that’s the world we are living in right now. Day 1 of the Coronatine

Day 1 of the Coronatine

Coronavirus hit the United States, and now Ohio, so schools are cancelled, gatherings of 100+ people are cancelled, and it’s pandemonium at grocery stores. Toilet paper seems to be most in demand, followed by cheese, graham cracker crusts, and frozen potatoes. I don’t understand the toilet paper thing because this virus is NOT affecting the GI tract at all, but since there is a run on toilet paper, the…

Easy Chicken Tortilla Soup

Easy Chicken Tortilla Soup

At least 2-3 times a week I make slow cooker dinners. I love my Crock Pot because it’s easy to throw ingredients in when I wake up in the morning, and dinner is ready whenever we are in the evening. Ninja class, dance class, soccer games, and church meetings all seem to happen right around the dinner hour, which means I have zero time to fix a meal if we want to eat at a somewhat normal time. That’s when…

The Book Loft

The Book Loft

Have you ever visited a place and immediately thought you would be happy to call it home??? I walked into my happy place over the weekend when we ventured into German Village and checked out The Book Loft. This store is actually a pre-Civil War era home, with 32 rooms of floor to ceiling books! If you’re claustrophobic and think books are just okay, you would do best to stay outside. BUT, if you’re claustrophobic and LOVE books, you’ll quickly…
